Privacy Policy
Effective 5 August 2026
CrossLangWord does not collect any personal information about you. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, and no crash reporting. Nothing you type into a puzzle ever leaves your device.
The app shows ads between puzzles. It does not track you: it never asks for tracking permission, never uses your device's advertising identifier, and every ad request is marked non-personalized.
Who we are
CrossLangWord is published by NextGenPowerToys. You can reach us at nextgenpowertoys@gmail.com. This policy covers the CrossLangWord mobile app on iOS and Android (bundle identifier com.nextgenpowertoys.crosslangword).
What stays on your device
The app saves a small amount of data so you can pick up where you left off. All of it is written to your device's private app storage. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and we cannot see it.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Chosen language, grid size and topic | So the app opens where you left it |
| Letters you have entered in the current puzzle | So closing the app does not lose your progress |
| How many puzzles you have finished, and when an ad was last shown | To keep ads infrequent — see below |
| Whether you have bought the ad-free upgrade | So ads stay off, including offline |
Deleting the app removes all of it. There is no backup on our side to delete, because there was never a copy.
Puzzle content
Every puzzle, word list and clue ships inside the app. The game works with no network connection at all. Nothing is downloaded and nothing about which puzzles you play or how you solve them is reported.
Advertising
CrossLangWord shows full-screen ads from Google AdMob, at most occasionally and only after you finish a puzzle. Serving an ad requires contacting Google's ad servers, which means Google — not us — receives certain technical information.
We do not track you
- The app never shows the "Allow tracking" prompt and never accesses Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
- On Android, the app does not use the Advertising ID for personalization either.
- Every ad request is explicitly flagged non-personalized. Ads are not selected based on your interests, your behaviour in other apps, or a profile of you.
- We do not build profiles, and we do not sell or share personal information. We have no personal information to sell or share.
What Google receives
To deliver an ad, prevent fraud, and avoid showing the same ad repeatedly, Google's advertising systems process data such as your IP address, your device model and operating system version, and an approximate (typically country-level) location derived from that IP address. This processing is governed by Google's own policies:
Apple SKAdNetwork (iOS)
On iOS the app supports SKAdNetwork, Apple's privacy-preserving ad attribution system. It lets an advertiser learn that an ad campaign led to an app install without identifying you. It carries no user identifier, and Apple does not classify it as tracking.
Europe, the UK and Switzerland
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a Google consent form is shown before ads are served, as required by GDPR and the ePrivacy rules. This is asked even though ads are non-personalized, because serving any ad involves reading and writing information on your device. Your answer is stored by the Google User Messaging Platform on your device.
To change your answer today, delete and reinstall the app. We are adding an in-app control to reopen this choice at any time.
How often ads appear
Ads are deliberately limited, and the limit is counted in puzzles rather than in minutes. None are shown until you have finished two puzzles. After that an ad appears every one to three puzzles, varying rather than on a fixed rhythm. None are ever shown in the middle of a puzzle, or when you leave one unfinished. The count of finished puzzles described above exists only to enforce this, and only on your device.
Removing ads
A one-off purchase removes advertising permanently. Buying it stops all ad requests, so nothing further is sent to Google's ad servers at all. The Remove ads button is on the chooser screen from the first launch; the app also offers it once, as a full sheet, after you have finished ten puzzles.
The payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your card details, your billing address, or your name — the app is told only that the purchase succeeded, and records that fact on your device. Apple's and Google's own privacy policies cover the transaction itself.
Because the record is stored on your device, reinstalling the app or moving to a new device will not carry it over by itself. Use the Restore purchase button on the chooser screen, which asks the store to confirm what you already own. You are never charged twice for a non-consumable purchase.
Children
CrossLangWord is a general-audience word game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us — though as described above, the app provides no way to do so.
Your rights
Privacy laws including the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port the personal data a company holds about you, and to object to its processing. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to return or erase. Regarding data processed by Google for advertising, please use the Google links above, which include Google's own controls and contact routes.
Data security
Because the app stores everything locally and transmits no personal data, the security of your information rests on your device's own protections. Communication with Google's ad servers uses encrypted connections.
Changes to this policy
If the app's behaviour changes — for example if personalized ads or any form of analytics were ever introduced — this page will be updated before that version ships, and the effective date at the top will change. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
